Andrea Camilleri wins the Chiara Award for his career

The Sicilian writer was awarded the Piero Chiaro Prize on Saturday the 1st of May in Luino (Varese). The tribute to career prize was assigned to Andrea Camilleri in recognition of how he has "seduced the whole world through the unequalled charm of his stories and the very essence of the real yet, imaginary Sicily".

Grossi wins the swl European Campiello Award

Pietro Grossi's novel "fists" won the Great Britain edition of the European Campiello Award. This prize is sustained and organized by The Venetian Campiello-Confindustria foundation and this year was dedicated to contemporary Italian novelists that were translated and published in English in 2009. Grossi's novel was published in Italy in 2006 by Sellerio publishing house and won the Italian literature prize: "Chiara". It was translated by Howard Curtis and published in Britain by Pushkin Press.
